\u00a0Grey and dreary. \u00a0Today, the view from his room was amazing while we\u00a0waited\u00a0for Parm to be rolled back from surgery. \u00a0Amazing. \u00a0Parm did something amazing today.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/parmzilla.com\/liver\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/image_4.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-267\" src=\"http:\/\/parmzilla.com\/liver\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/image_4-1024x768.jpeg\" alt=\"image_4\" width=\"604\" height=\"453\" srcset=\"https:\/\/parmzilla.com\/liver\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/image_4-1024x768.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/parmzilla.com\/liver\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/image_4-300x225.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 604px) 100vw, 604px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Words can&#8217;t really describe what it felt like to see Parm finally rolled back into his room from the PAC-Unit (Post-Acute Care Unit). \u00a0This happened around 3:00 p.m. today. \u00a0\u00a0Eyes open, laying back on a gurney. \u00a0He immediately started\u00a0was moving his hands and lifting\u00a0his hospital top to show us his &#8220;gnarly scar.&#8221;\u00a0 The next few words were, &#8220;How&#8217;s Mom doing?&#8221; \u00a0At that time, Heidi was still in surgery. \u00a0We then quickly stepped aside to make way for nurses as they moved Parm from the gurney onto his hospital bed. \u00a0They shut the door&#8211;you know, just in case they were to drop him&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Steve, Kevan, Connie, and I were so relieved to finally see him. \u00a0It was an even better treat to see him awake. \u00a0Once we were in the room with him, he looked at me and asked, &#8220;Have you been updating my blog?&#8221; \u00a0Oh, Parm.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/parmzilla.com\/liver\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/image_5.jpeg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-274 size-large\" src=\"http:\/\/parmzilla.com\/liver\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/image_5-e1415854772324-768x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"image_5\" width=\"604\" height=\"805\" srcset=\"https:\/\/parmzilla.com\/liver\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/image_5-e1415854772324-768x1024.jpeg 768w, https:\/\/parmzilla.com\/liver\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/image_5-e1415854772324-225x300.jpeg 225w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 604px) 100vw, 604px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>So, how is he feeling? \u00a0Parm&#8217;s feeling great, all the drugs (pardon my humor). \u00a0Parm is feeling very tired. \u00a0He is a bit groggy. \u00a0Every so often, he wakes up to talk to you, but drifts back to sleep during conversation. \u00a0He has been telling the nurses that he feels some pain. \u00a0About a\u00a03 on a scale of 1-10&#8230; \u00a0Last time the nurse checked, Parm could feel the touch of the nurse&#8217;s hands on his feet and calves. \u00a0No food until tomorrow. \u00a0I&#8217;m happy that I hear a gentle snoring. \u00a0Did I tell you about the &#8220;gnarly scar;&#8221; he is still trying to lift his shirt to show me&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Now, that Parm&#8217;s out, part of the entourage moved on to the ICU (intensive care unit) waiting room for Heidi. \u00a0Below is a good picture of the eager, smiling from good news.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-273\" src=\"http:\/\/parmzilla.com\/liver\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/image_6-1024x768.jpeg\" alt=\"image_6\" width=\"604\" height=\"453\" srcset=\"https:\/\/parmzilla.com\/liver\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/image_6-1024x768.jpeg 1024w, https:\/\/parmzilla.com\/liver\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/image_6-300x225.jpeg 300w, https:\/\/parmzilla.com\/liver\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/image_6.jpeg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 604px) 100vw, 604px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Shortly after situating Parm, Dr. Roberts (Heidi&#8217;s doctor), came and found us. \u00a0He told us, Heidi&#8217;s surgery went well. \u00a0She is done and will be moved to the ICU with time. \u00a0Doctor said\u00a0Heidi received a good sized new liver! \u00a0Even better news&#8211;her body seemed to be working and functioning with the new liver. \u00a0They also did some clamping on the spleen to decrease her blood pressure and patched up the hemorrhaging from before. \u00a0Although Heidi would not\u00a0be\u00a0waking up today, she was\u00a0taken to the\u00a0ICU and we were allowed to see her. \u00a0The doctor hopes for her to be discharged in two weeks.<\/p>\n<p>The report from Steve, Kevan, and Connie is that Heidi is looking good in the ICU and doing well. \u00a0Nurses are impressed how well Heidi is doing. \u00a0They didn&#8217;t expect to be able to take out her breathing and feeding tubes from her mouth\/throat so quickly. \u00a0By the time Kevan, Steve, and Connie got there, Heidi was breathing on her own. \u00a0They heard machines whirling way, indicating her arteries were pumping blood through the new liver. \u00a0Modern medical miracles. \u00a0Steve said they told her Parm was doing alright, and Heidi nodded. \u00a0Although not awake, Heidi is clearly lucid and present. \u00a0So happy!<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Asher just walked in too. \u00a0She said the surgery went fine and took a look at Parm&#8217;s scar. \u00a0&#8220;Looks good!&#8221; she says. \u00a0Can&#8217;t argue with that woman. \u00a0She is one amazing warrior woman of a doctor. \u00a0Looks good doing it too! \u00a0And if you know me, I am all about the\u00a0strong women who\u00a0get\u00a0business done while looking sharp. \u00a0 She also asked Parm, &#8220;do you remember fainting when we had to give you the epideral?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>At this moment, the gang has returned home. \u00a0As for me, there will be another session with the chair tonight. \u00a0Parm&#8217;s doing well, and he is being checked on every hour by nurses. \u00a0Thanks again, everyone for all the support and love. \u00a0I am reading Parm all the comments and loving words being expressed.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Remember the pictures from when Parm checked into the hospital on Day 1?
